ABOUT US

The Red Lion, built in 1826 as a coaching inn, is big and I mean really BIG. Hence we are able to have a pub of three halves (yes, I know) - DOWNSTAIRS BAR and WALLED GARDEN for eating and quaffing, the upstairs LION'S DEN for parties and meetings and more and...............................
........an ART GALLERY showing an ever changing exhibition of the work of local artists - GET IN TOUCH IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO EXHIBIT YOUR WORK.
Downstairs, in the surprisingly INTIMATE BAR we serve drinks as well as food lovingly prepared by chef Danny and his amazing kitchen team, using fresh, locally sourced ingredients. It's cool and airy in the summer whilst there is an open fire in the winter.

Upstairs and entirely separate, THE LION'S DEN function suite is for meetings and family celebrations as well as classes, parties and lectures .

WALLED GARDEN
We garden with nature in mind so it can look unkempt at times. Our laissez faire attitude to gardening is starting to pay off - we have been rewarded with several species of butterfly in great numbers in the summer, as well as Hummingbird Hawk Moth, Jersey Tiger Moth and Banded Demoiselle. The birds are starting to return including a Black Redstart in the winter. So forgive the look of the place but it is child and dog proof!
